Summer TV Preview

No Bachelorette this week L I know, I am super sad, but Andi and the guys will be back next week, and there is plenty of great summer TV to watch after the season ends in July. Take a look.

Riot

Fox

Premiered: Tuesday, May 27 @ 8pm

Steve Carell executive-produces this adaptation of the Australian slapstick game show Slide Show, which features improv comedians engaging in a series of physical and mental challenges. Among the tricks these jokesters will deal with while trying to make us laugh are a stage that tilts at a 22-degree angle, a pitch-black room, and a wrecking ball that smashes them off a pedestal. Confirmed guests include Carell, Jason Alexander, and Cheryl Hines. 

Chasing Life

ABC Family

Premiered: Tuesday, June 10 @ 9pm

Think The Big C for teens. Based on the Mexican series Terminales, the drama stars Italia Ricci as April, an up-and-coming Boston-based journalist who must balance her burgeoning career with her hectic home life, which includes her widowed mother, rebellious little sister and grandmother. Her world is turned upside-down when she learns that she has cancer. Mary Page Keller, Aisha Dee, Richard Brancatisano and Haley Ramm co-star.

Almost Royal

BBC America

Premieres: Saturday, June 21 @ 10pm

The British are coming! And they're delusional, spoiled royalty, according to this mockumentary, the network's first original comedy-reality series. Cameras will follow British aristocrats and siblings Georgie (Ed Gamble) and Poppy Carlton (Amy Hoggart) as they tour America, take in all of its homely glory, and learn about this "baseball" thing the country seems so in love with.

Rising Star

ABC

Premieres: Sunday, June 22 @ 9pm

Swivel chairs? Waiting a day to tally votes? That's like the dial-up Internet version of talent shows. Based on the number-one Israeli reality competition, Rising Star brings singing shows into the modern era. Using an app, viewers vote in real time to decide whether the singer stays or goes. Still no word on how this will work as a live event on both coasts, though. Josh Groban hosts and Kesha, Brad Paisley and and Ludacris form the panel of experts.

Big Brother

Premieres: Wednesday, June 25 @ 8pm

The new season of Big Brother premieres on Wednesday, June 25th at 8pm,when we get to watch the new cast enter the house and scramble to find a bed and an ally. The rest of the weekly shows will be on Thursdays at 9PM ET/PT with the first live eviction on July 3 (my birthday!), and Sundays at 8PM ET/PT. This year we’re set with a Sunday, Wednesday, and Thursday episode schedule. Get ready for a summer of twists!

Mystery Girls

ABC Family

Premieres: Wednesday, June 25 @ 8:30pm

Donna Martin investigates! West Bev High grads Tori Spelling and Jennie Garth reunite as former co-stars of the detective show Mystery Girls. Charlie (Garth) is a suburban housewife and mother, while Holly (Spelling) longs for her '90s glory days when she was on television. (How meta.) They are brought back together when a witness to a crime and a Mystery Girls fanatic will only speak to the famous duo, so the former pals put their TV crime-solving skills — or "detectiving" — hats back on.

Girl Meets World

Diseny Channel

Premieres: Friday, June 27 @ 9pm

The highly anticipated Boy Meets World sequel series features Riley (Rowan Blanchard), the 12-year-old daughter of Cory (Ben Savage) and Topanga (Danielle Fishel), as she navigates adolescence like her pops did in the '90s. Sabrina Carpenter plays Maya, the Shawn Hunter to Blanchard's Riley, while her Mr. Feeny will be none other than her dad, who's now her history teacher. BMW alums Rider Strong, William Daniels, William Russ, Betsy Randle and Lee Norris will all make appearances. 

The Real Housewives of New Jersey

Bravo

Premieres: Sunday, July 13 @ 8pm

Season 6 brings a lot of changes! Caroline Manzo, Jacqueline Laurita, and Kathy Wakile are out while Amber Marchese, twins Teresa and Nicole Napolitano join the cast, and Dina Manzo makes a return.  Teresa Giudice and Melissa Gorga are rumored to finally have worked out their issues, but that doesn't mean the season will be drama-free. The show will spend some time this season focusing on Teresa and Joe Giudice's ongoing legal issues, Dina’s divorce, Melissa rekindling a friendship with Amber, the dynamics of the twin sisters.

 Food Fighters

Premieres: Tuesday, July 22 @ 9pm

Hosted by Man v. Food's Adam Richman, the culinary reality series will pit home cooks vs. professional chefs. Each week, an amateur cook, who will have three lifelines to work with, and a pro will face off by whipping up the former's signature dish. A blind taste test by a panel of judges will determine the winner. If the home cook prevails, they receive a cash prize and get to cook again versus another pro.

Bachelor in Paradise

ABC

Premieres: Monday, August 4 @ 9pm

Bachelor Pad this is not. Well actually, it sort of is. Just out of The Valley and in a foreign country. Former Bachelor and Bachelorette contestants who didn't find true love the first (or second) time around will pile into a house in "paradise" and give finding their special someone under the watchful eye of America another shot. There will be hookups, breakups, and beatdowns. Chris Harrison returns to host the six-episode series.
