Strawberry Pecan Salad

The temperatures have risen significantly over the weekend. The last thing I want to do is turn on my oven to cook dinner. Salads are a great way to feed the family without heating up the home. This salad recipes three of my favorite things - fruit, nuts, and blue cheese!

What You'll Need:

5 oz of mixed greens
1 cup of sliced strawberries
1/2 cup of pecan halves
1/2 cup of crumbled blue cheese

What You'll Need to Do:

Layer the salad ingredients in a large salad bowl.
Pour your favorite dressing over the salad as desired
(my favorite is poppy seed dressing; vinaigrette is another great option)
ENJOY!

Fun Tip: Add chicken for protein!

MDW: Have Dog, Will Travel

Long weekends are the best. We were blessed with tons of sunshine and warm weather! For our anniversary back in March I gifted Nick with a cabin stay near ORV trails.

I found a great place on Airbnb which allows dogs. It's so much easier for us when we can just take Scout along. We headed up to the cabin after work on Friday.

The cabin was so beautiful. It reminded me of my grandparent's house growing up. It was so nice and quiet, and it was just so nice to unplug and look outside and see the trees.

Scout made himself right at home!

Most of the weekend was spent doing Nick's favorite activity - off roading! There were games of Uno, naps, and reading too!

To say that I got a little dirty would be an understatement.

I mean look at my neck wrinkles/lines. YIKES!

Hope everyone had a great weekend!

The Royal Wedding of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle

"Every once in a while, in the middle of an ordinary life,
love gives us a fairytale."

After months and months of preparation, Harry and Meghan official became husband and wife, and became the the Duke and Duchess of Sussex. And after months of my own prep, it was so special to witness a piece of history with some amazing women I hosted at my home.

I decorated in a blue and red Union Jack theme with the help from my goodies from my subscription boxes from Quaintly & Co and London Pop Box.

I used other special touches from Zazzle and Amazon such as Harry and Meghan stickers, UK and USA flags, a Corgi balloon, and London themed magnets and toothpicks.

The menu consisted of toad in the whole, British scones with orange marmalade and blackberry preserves, yogurt, fruit, and granola, and a baked omelet.

Royal English Breakfast tea or coffee anyone? Maybe a mimosa?

The party was complete with Royal Wedding trivia, make-your-own fascinators,  and door prizes!

It as my friend Kelly's birthday so we celebrated with a Chocolate Biscuit Cake, which is said to be the Queen favorite!

It was a great wedding that I got to share with a great group of friends!

I had to get a picture with my own ginger price, who "wasn't watching", and "wasn't interested at all." Well, the proof is in the picture.

There is so much to be said about the ceremony, Meghan's dress, the titles, and the reception!
