Quaintly & Co February Box Review

The Quaintly & Co subscription box is the perfect way for me to get fix for my UK/Europe obsession. Each box offers the best in quintessentially British products designed by skilled artisans from all of the Isle. Each month you receive a 'lovingly' curated box of themed items for the UK featuring beauty, accessories, apparel, home essentials, crafts, and 'luxurious'edibles.

Quaintly & Co ships their boxes on the 22nd of every month. The box arrives to me in the following month because it is shipped from the UK. Therefore, February's box was shipped on February 22nd, but received 14 days later in March.

February's box theme was 'Gifts from the Lake District.' The Lake District is located in North West England and boasts rural countryside, crystal clear lakes, and sprawling hills.

I signed up for the Classic Box which offers three to six full-sized products each month. The box comes complete with a very handsome booklet which offers more information about the month's theme and description of the products.

Let's take a look at February's box...

Ewe Tube Neck Warmer
(13 pounds or $18.01)

The product is from The Herdy Company which was started 10 years ago in Cumbria. The neck warmer features a cute pattern of herwick sheep. The Ewe Tube can be warn as a neck scarf, sweat band, beanie, or sun hat and is easily reshaped while damp.

So here's the scoop... This product is so cute (love the pattern) and so versatile; however, I won't use it. I plan to gift it to someone who is a little more outdoorsy than me and who can really get use out of it.

Map of Cumbria Print
(12 pounds or $16.63)

Anna Lawton created Pepper Pot Studios six years ago. The company is known for making bright, colorful, and contemporary graphic designs. Cumbria is a county in North West England.

So here's the scoop... At first I wasn't sure what I was going to do with this print, but it has since grown on me and I plan to find a spot to hang it in my house!

Lake District Map Greeting Card
(3 pounds or $4.16)

The Lake District Map Greeting Card comes from watercolor painter Laura Hallet. More of her work can be found at her website.

So here's the scoop... The illustration and color is beautiful, but honestly, I'm not sure what I'm going to do with this.

Lemongrass Handmade Soap Bar
(4.95 pounds or $6.86)

The Sedbergh Soap Co. is a family business at the foot of the Howgill Fells in Sedbergh. The company's bar soaps are the top selling product and also the same soap they supply to some of the best hotels in England.

So here's the scoop... I love beauty products, but this one just wasn't for me. And the only reason is that I do not like lemon - the taste, the smell, etc. However, it is beautifully crafted and I will certainly be giving this as a gift!

Gin & Tonic Lip Balm
(5 pounds or $6.93)

This product is created a company called by The Bath House. The Bath House was founded in 1997 and set out to create bathing and body care products that are 'naturally good' for the skin. Their lip balm features moisture-rich shea and cocoa butters to leave lips smooth and soothed.

So here's the scoop... This lip balm is perfect for me! Michigan winters are dry and cold so I can never get enough balm! I also loved the packaging and the tin it comes in.

February's Total Box Value: $34.58. I paid around 82 pounds (including shipping) or $114 for a 3-month subscription. To make it worth my while, each box's product should add up to $38. This one just fell short, but I'm sure the company does not take in to consideration the shipping cost to the USA. After doing the calculations, the 3-month subscription overall is only saving me 94 cents per box.

Overall, my thoughts on this box were 'meh'. I'll get two more boxes with the subscription I chose. March's theme is 'English Gardens and Shakespeare', and April's theme is 'The Royal Family - Wedding and New Baby' (which ya'll know I will looooove).

Enjoy some outtakes...

Monday Madness 3.12.18

A very happy 1st Birthday to my sweet niece, Liesel! Her mama and I married brothers, and over the last decade have become the the very best of friends. Excited to go to her Madeline themed 1st Birthday party!

My Weekend...

Lately...

Nick and I celebrated our TENTH wedding anniversary on March 1!  I remember thinking how I felt 2018 was so far away when we got married in 2008, but the last ten years have gone by so fast. Marriage takes a lot of persistence, team work, and compromise.

In early January, before we left for Ireland, we got some family photos done to commemorate 10 years. We hadn't had professional photos done since our wedding!

This Valentine's Day I was a part of The Blended Blog's Spread the Love Swap. I was supposed to have my swap reveal post up on February 26 so I am SUPER late the party (like always).

I was paired with Jess from Just Jess who is from the beautiful state of North Carolina (so jealous)!  All of the gifts she sent were so lovely and thoughtful, especially the toy she sent for Scout. Also, can we talk about the M n Ms and the PB cups... my favorites!

Work is going to be  real bear over the next two weeks. We have some people out of vacation and we're already understaffed as it is. I'm really passionate about my job and love it, but working in health care can be very tiring.

Closing thoughts...
