Stop back on Wednesday for my Springtime Mega Giveaway! You won't want to miss the change to win FOURTEEN amazing products.
I did something kind of crazy last week. I pierced my ears! Okay, so that's really not crazy, but it is for me. The last time I had my ears pierced and wore earrings was when I was 13. That was 16 years ago. I have super sensitive ears and they would always be irritated and get infected. Has anyone else experienced this? How did you remedy it? My sister has the same problem, but keeps it under control by wearing only sterling silver. I'd been thinking about re piercing them for awhile now, and I finally got over my reservations and did it!
I only worked a half day on Friday so I was able to have a lunch date with Nick, sign up for tennis lessons again, and run some errands! I have another half day this Friday! I'm going to the salon for a major change... stay tuned! Saturday we grabbed a bite to eat out and Sunday was warm enough to head up to the tennis courts after church (of course we had to layer).
I'm excited about the Essie polish I bought this weekend. I got two new colors – Good as Gold and Fifth Avenue. I love my Essie polish!
Nick and I rented American Hustle on Friday night. It was a really good movie! The character/actors were amazing, the story was great, and it wasn't overly raunchy (despite Amy Adams character's aversion to bras). We finally watched Horrible Bosses on Saturday. It was the funniest movie I've seen in a long time and I have a huge crush on Jason Bateman.
Now that our kitchen/dining area is painted, I'm working on a knitting a blanket in blue to pull the color into the living room. I'm super excited about it! I've been reading The Imposter Bride by Nancy Richler which is a departure from my normal reads. However, it's eloquently written and very interesting. I've been geeking out over Ghirardelli's Cherry Tango chocolate and the show Bar Rescue. Both so good!
Scout says have a great week!
Aww love the puppy picture! It sounds like you have an allergy to the cheapie earrings that most stores sell.. I bet sticking to real silver/gold would help!

I loved American Hustle too!! And yes...dang 70's fashion...bras please!!!! Haha
ReplyDeleteYay for getting your ears pierced again! I had the same problem when I was a teen with my ears getting infected.. I have been totally fine since I started wearing more sterling silver jewelry and less costume jewelry (like F21). I still need to see American Hustle - everyone has loved it!
ReplyDeleteThat ear problem is an allergy -- I have the same problem. Unfortunately, I just can't kick my adorable inexpensive jewelry habit (and sometimes it happens with nice stuff!), so I've figured out that rubbing hydrocortisone cream on the posts before putting them in my ears prevents irritation. I've read that you can also use Vaseline, but hydrocortisone is more helpful for me.
ReplyDeleteWhat a cute link up, hopefully I'll remember to join in next week. I love the way essie nail polish looks, but its so darn expensive compared to the other brands I can't ever pull the trigger. And a giveaway with fourteen prizes, count me in!! I can't wait :)
ReplyDeleteMy ears were the same way! They haven't been pierced in about 7 years now because they were a hassle to deal with. They got infected a lot because I could only wear real gold earrings - sterling silver made them break out and get nasty. But I had my belly button done and never had a problem. It's strange! I'd love to get mine redone. Awesome that you did yours!
ReplyDeleteI love playing tennis, I'm not very good but it is super fun!
I really want to see American Hustle, I'm hoping to watch it tomorrow. I'm glad to hear you liked it!
