What's Up Wednesday

Happy Hump Day! Stopping in to give you a quick update on what I've been up to recently.

The 2019 US Figure Skating Championships took place in Detroit over the last two weeks. I'm kind of bummed I didn't think to get tickets. 'The D' is about 2.5 hours from where I live and it would have been a fun event to see live! I've followed figure skating my entire life, and got in to ice dancing after the last Olympics. The US has some amazing ice dance teams! Any other fans out there?

Nick and I have been keeping busy by going to the shooting range and going to the movies. Only indoor activities for this Michigan couple.

Winter finally showed up in Michigan. We were having really mild temperatures with no snow until last week. Now it's been in the negatives in the mornings, the teens during the day, and we have plenty of snow! The governor declared a State of Emergency yesterday, and today is supposed to be the coldest day (with wind chills) that the state has had in 20 years.

Being inside has meant watching lots of TV (instead of reading). I recently finished up some series I had been working on. I finished Orphan Black, Vanity Fair, and Victoria (season 1). Right now I'm working my way through the last season of Downton Abbey.

I got a new(ish) computer. I say newish because it's refurbished. I don't know what all that means, but I know it runs a lot faster to than my old laptop. I leave the tech speak to Nick.

I've gotten some great photos of Scout lately. Enjoy!

What have you been up to?

  1. It's cold here too but not snowing! What a cute dog you have. The gymnastics trials are coming here this summer but the tickets are really expensive!

  4. I love figure skating. I've watched since I was a kid but I really started following it during the 2006 Olympics. I hate summer Olympics years.

My Scout is mostly annoyed at me because it's too cold to go outside.

  6. I live in Northern Indiana, so I'm currently experiencing the same awful weather that you are. I haven't left my house in two days. I've been trying to catch up on my reading.
