Getting to Know You... Getting to Know All About You

Today I wanted to do something really light-hearted and fun! I love learning more about other bloggers. Below you will learn 10 things about me. Make sure to pick one question and answer it in the comments so I can learn more about you!

1. What is your biggest fear?
Snakes. They are the devil on earth. My fear is so bad that when I do come across a snake, I immedately have a panic attack complete with the sweats.

2. What is your favorite workout? Ballet classes. I've danced pretty much my entire life, and ballet is an awesome full body workout. It includes body weight strength training and cardio!

3. What's your natural hair color? I'm not really sure at this point! My roots usually come in a dark, ash blonde. I was bleach blonde by nature as a child though!

4. What is your favorite smell? Lilacs! I love them and always have lilac scented candles in the house.

5. Tell me the 3 best days in your life - or the first 3 that come to mind.

  • Graduating with my Bachelors (May 2006). I worked really hard to graduate with honors.
  • Getting married, but really being married (so every day for the last 8.5 years).
  • My sister being born. This one is in retrospect. I didn't care for her at the time, but now she's one my best friends and I'm so thankful for the day she came into this world (July 26, 1987).

6. What are your top 3 places currently on your bucket list to visit?

7. What is your favorite food? French Fries... uhhh gawd yum!

8. What is your current Netflix show of choice? I actually don't have Netflix! However, we did a free month trial to watch Fuller House and will probably do the same thing when season 2 comes out!

9. Were you named after anyone?
My parents had a waitress named Ashley at a Red Lobster in Florida after they moved there after getting married (circa 1980). They really loved it, and when their first child was a boy, the name got passed to me, their first girl! My name middle name is Elizabeth, in honor of my maternal great-grandmother.

10. What's your favorite hamburger topping? Cheese, pickles, yellow mustard. Boom.

Make sure to pick one question and answer it in the comments so I can learn more about you!

2016 Emmy Fashion

The 2016-2017 awards season officially started on Sunday night with the Emmys. I felt this year's red carpet was overall a disappointment, but I was able to pull out of few gems from a sea of frump and dump.

Holly Taylor in Theia

This was the favorite of the night! I love the sleekness of this gown punctuated with a high collar with crystal embellishments. The slit and train are the icing on the cake!

Emmy Rossum in Wes Gordon

Again, I love a a great white gown. I also love simplicity and a really good fit. Emmy looks beatiful. Bravo!

Tatiana Maslany in Alexander Wang

I love the illusion. Is it a dress? Is it a crop top and skirt? The fit, tailoring, color, and cut outs are beyond fabulous.

Felicity Huffman in Tony Ward

I love the pattern and the organza on this dress. It's also modest and very flattering.

Padma Lakshmi in Naeem Khan

Can you really go wrong with head to toe sparkle? This dress looks elegant, expensive, and sexy all at the same time.

Some of my worst dress this year include Anna Chlumsky, Laura Carmichael, Gabby Hoffman, Jamie Brewer, and Alia Shawkat.

What were your favorite fashions from the Emmys?

Friday Five

//1// As a mentioned earlier this week, we got rid of DirecTV and went with Amazon Fire. I love how easy it is to access my shows I watch with prime. My favorites is The Americans, but Nick and I started watching the Amazon original show The Man in the High Castle.

The show is based off an alternative history novel by American writer Philip K. Dick. Set in 1962, fifteen years after an alternative ending to World War II, the novel and show is about intrigues between the victorious Axis Powers—Imperial Japan and Nazi Germany—as they rule over the former United States. Very interesting and great for WWII history buffs like me and Nick!

//2// On Monday I highlighted the Books & Blogger's swap and the awesome books I recieved from my partner. Before I get to them, I have to finish the one I'm currently working on.

I'm about half way through, but I'm already recommending it. It's such a cute, fun, easy read!

//3// Headed to a craft fair tommorrow with a co-worker to support the school our other co-worker's kids go to. Can't wait to get out and find some gems!

//4// I did a Wanderlust Wednesday post and annouced where Nick and I will be going for our 2017 vacation. It's a big one! We are Switzerland/Monaco/Italy bound!

//5// The doctors I work for are part of a food co-op and gave me an entire bag of apples!  I'm going to attempt to make homemade apple sauce for my husband (and to ring in Fall)!
