//1// Barnum's animal crackers have been unleashed!
Instead of the animals caged in a boxcar on their way to a circus, the animals are now roaming free. The giraffe, gorilla, elephant, lion, and zebra are now pictured on the box roaming in a grassland.
//2// The first member of the Air Force since the Vietnam War was awarded the Medal of Honor.
About damn time. The Medal of Honor is American's highest award for valor in combat. The award was bestowed upon Air Force Technical Sargent John A. Chapman for his valor in a battle at Takur Ghar on March 4, 2002. Chapman and five other U.S. service members died during this battle. Chapman, alone on the battlefield, was killed after knowingly stepping into the sights of an al-Qaeda machine gun team, likely to stop enemy fighters from shooting down an incoming U.S. military helicopter.
The award was present to Valerie Nessel, the airman's widow, during a ceremony at the White House.
//3// The Eagles upset MJ.
The Eagles' album, 'Their Greatest Hits 1971-1975' is now the best selling album OF ALL TIME. The album is now certified 38 times platinum which pushes Michael Jackson's 'Thriller' (which is 33 times platinum) to second place!
//4// The first Japanese tennis player won a major tennis tournament.
20-year old Naomi Osaka was the VERY FIRST Japanese player to win a major tennis tournament (the majors include the Australian Open, the US Open, the French Open, and Wimbledon). Osaka beat Serena Williams in straight sets at the US Open on September 8th. You go, girl!
//5// Is it her or isn't it?
The above photo went viral after an American from South Florida posted it on her twitter account claiming it's Meghan Markle outside of the private entrances of Kensington Palace. It sure looks like Meghan (with the exception of the bad shoes and high-waters), but the claim has come in to question. What do you think?

Very interesting stuff, especially and animal crackers!
ReplyDeleteI sure hope that's NOT Meghan! LOL And I love that Naomi won the Open but am so sad for her that it was marred by controversy!
ReplyDeleteI honestly never noticed that the animals were "caged" on the animal cracker boxes, I always thought it looked like a fun circus!

Stories about the bravery of that Air force sergeant, are so heart breaking and give me the chills at the same time. So much bravery. So sad for his family. Glad he was recognized. Oh, and I love the freed animals. I can still see the bars when I look at the new box though.
