Monday Madness 1.16.17

Well, I have been awesome keeping up with the blog (note the sarcasm). I hope everyone had an awesome Christmas/Holiday season and are having an awesome start to Twenty Seventeen!

So the new year has been pretty good to me despite a sinus infection (boooo). I've been working hard and spending time with my favorite guys. This weekend we finally took down our Christmas decorations!

One reason you haven't seen in in the bloggerverse is because I started a new business venture! Dance has been a part of my life since the age of four (that's about 28 years!). It's a passion of mine and is one of the things I have missed most since moving from Pennsylvania (I taught at the studio I grew up in). Saturday was my very first day teaching classes here in Michigan! It started from my coworker and the doctor I work for asking if I could teach their children dance. I told my coworker Kelsey, if she could find a place for me, I'd be more than happy to do it. She got the OK from her pastor to use their church basement. From there, Kelsey mentioned that she had some friends with young girls who would be interested. Thus, the birth of Studio 3 Dance!

I was so excited about our turn out. We have 15 girls for our 3/4yr old class, 10 for our 5/6yr old class, and 6 in our 7-10yr old class. If you're reading this and live in West Michigan, be sure to check out our Facebook page and website!

I've been trying to get more involved and make more friends in my 'hood. I joined a book club hosted by one of my coworkers, go to aerobics class with another, and have movie nights with my coworker Jess.

We read The Book of Speculation for January book club. It wasn't one I would have picked out on my own, but really ended up enjoying it. Can't wait to discuss it tonight at our book club meeting!

I'm trying to revive Blogging the Bachelor on Wednesdays, but what are ya'll thinking so far? I love watching Nick because he is H-O-T HOT. However, I'm having a hard time getting into the fairy tale because I don't think he's husband material. He's like the town bicycle; everyone's had a ride.

I'm already sick of that Corrine girl already and we're only 2 episodes in. She's something different. I don't mind so much that she's a slut, just that she's super annoying.

The whole Liz situation is super awkward so I'm glad he sent her packing.

My favorites for Nick include Kristina (the adopted Russian), Raven (because I love a Southern Belle), and Sarah (the school teacher).

I'm really looking forward to more dance classes and growing my business over the next few months, along with my sister-in-law's baby shower, a special program at church for Valentine's Day, celebrating our 9th wedding anniversary, and seeing The Sound of Music as part of Broadway Grand Rapids.

Our Europe trip is coming up in about 4 months! SO EXCITED. We'll be spending 9 days in Switzerland and 3 days in France/Monaco. I hope it gets here fast!

Happy Monday!

  1. You have been so busy lately, but that's so awesome that you started teaching dance again, especially since it's such a big part of your life! And I love your analogy for Nick, he really is the town bicycle! Corrine is so annoying, but I have a feeling that he'll keep her on for a while. Your Europe trip will be here so soon!

  3. So glad to see you back in the blogging world! Congrats on your dance studio! That is awesome news! I also like Sarah and Raven on the Bachelor but I don't know that Sarah will make it to the end. Raven speaks her mind and is sassy! I agree that Nick is hot! Have a great week! - Crystal

  4. CONGRATS on teaching dance classes - so much fun! And ughhhhh I'm beyond over Corrine as well, she's definitely this season's designated villain that the producers want to keep around for drama. I had to lol at the snoring noises they kept making for her every time the "little girl" needed a nap on last night's episode :-P

  5. So cool you started your own dance class. I miss dance too! I did ballet for about 3 years as an adult and this reminds me that I was going to look into taking classes again. I think I want to try jazz and modern.
