The Melt-Free Face

The heat can be harsh on your makeup . Even skin that isn't normally oily can get shiny during the summer. Follow the tips below for a melt-free face this summer.

//1// Toner and Moisturizer
Choose a toner that is alcohol free to help control the shine. Apply a small amount over clean skin using a cotton ball. Then apply and oil-free lightweight moisturizer. Wait 5 to 10 minutes for you skin to fully absorb the moisturizing before starting your makeup.

//2// Powder Foundation
Choose a powder foundation. Liquid and creams can slip right off your face in the heat. Use a drop of primer first, and then do one light dusting of the powder.

//3// Concealer
Skip it. Concealer can be oily so skip it on hot, sticky, humid days Add a second layer of powder foundation where you need extra coverage. Use a clean eye shadow brush in the foundation and lightly tap it on where you need it.

//4// Blot
Stick to powder versions of eye shadows and blushes this summer. If shiny spots pop up during the day, wrap a one-ply tissue around your fingers and blot.

  1. These are all such great tips! It's hot as all get out in Texas, so I definitely have to find ways to make sure that my makeup doesn't sweat off all the time! I usually use a setting spray to help me out, but I also have to make sure that I blot and don't rub too!
