3 Tips for Your Best Vacation Yet

Try my three favorite tips to enhance your vacation this summer!

Eat at a place recommended by a local.

We had read about a place called Pasta e Pesto before we left for Switzerland. We ended up eating there and it was basically Switzerland's form of Noodles and Company. We did much better on our trip to Ireland. We ate in a great, authentic pub recommended by our tour guide, who is native to Ireland.

Bring home a souvenir not purchased in a souvenir shop.

My weird little rock/stone collection started when I went on a cruise with my friend the Bahamas. We flew to Miami first and I found I really cool rock/coral on South Beach. My husband lived in Miami before we knew each other so I thought I'd bring the cool looking thing back home with me for him.

I now have rocks from Lake Como, Italy and I grabbed one out of the Atlantic Ocean while in Ireland. It's a small collection, but I hope to grow it soon!

Try something new.

I usually try some native food while on my trips, but what about trying out a new activity? I am NOT a fan of heights and will sometimes get bouts of vertigo, but I knew I had to do Blarney Castle while in Ireland. We climbed up these narrow, closed in stone stairs to a height of nine stories, and then I was held upside down from those nine stories to kiss the Blarney Stone. I really had to talk myself in to it, and as touristy as it might be, I'm glad I did it. YOLO!

I also climbed up to the top of the Cliffs of Mohr which also has a pretty steep drop.
